"The Matriarch's Fluff" is a project that intertwines the threads of the grandmother figure, intergenerational bonds of the matriarch, and the materiality of memory. This tangible and poetic approach to histories and ancestry suggests a tactile connection from the past to the present, utilizing old photographs of my grandmother, great-grandmother, mother, and aunts. Family archival photographs, imbued with profound historical significance in Greece, are brought to life through artificial intelligence and transformed into abstract, achronic fuchsia fur.
