Fluffy Library is a subversive, participatory installation that reimagines what a library can be. Rooted in the artist’s decade-long research on softness as a queer quality, it serves as a catalyst for radical intimacy, collective storytelling, and alternative forms of knowledge-sharing—offering resistance to the rigidity and control of productivity-driven systems.

Behind the library lies a myth: legend tells of a gigantic, ageless, gender-fluid chimeric creature named Fluffy. This being roams from space to space, devouring books and digesting them into knowledge through its many fuzzy burrows. With landscapes of pillow-like fur, slick vinyl, and a cast of whimsical, monstrous beings—the Dragon Princess, the Hairy Fairy, the Bearded Beauty, among others—this cuddly beast hungers for new friends, food for thought, and moments of love, hugs, and tenderness.

Fluffy Library is a space for collective experiences, where multiple subjectivities vibrate together immersed in the fluidity and coziness of soft fluff. It is for those of us who wish their fairy tales had been a little more adventurous and are ready to explore alternative narratives of gender, sexuality, and interspecies co-existence. How good of a grasp can we get of the uncanny and how much tenderness can we give or gather from it? The library-installation features a curated collection of books on sexuality, queerness, and gender, inviting the audience to cuddle up, roll around, and immerse themselves in a soft, fluffy universe.

Through workshops, events, and collaborations with artists, educators, and activist collectives, Fluffy Library seeks to build bridges between art, radical pedagogy, and social activism. It aims to serve as a gathering space for diverse audiences—centering children, families of all kinds, and queer people. The workshops, curated by the artist and co-organized with educators, activists, and queer collectives, include the first-ever “Drag for Kids” workshop in Greece, where four Athenian drag queens led children (ages 4–8) and their parents through interactive performances and puppetry exploring inclusion, self-expression, empathy, and coexistence. The project also featured a special curation of events and performances in collaboration with artists, musicians, publishers, and collectives such as Queer Ink, The Political Fatties, and Burning Eye Books—offering cozy evenings of absurd storytelling, poetry slams, queer film screenings, girl-power music nights, performances exploring disability, as well as installations and artist residencies.
