You have most surely experienced it, although it is hard to put into words. It remains somewhere in our bodily memory, awaiting the next occasion. Let’s call it abundance, for now, a special sense of abundance that only erupts when we gather and let ourselves be intoxicated by each other’s fantasies. In those moments, despite living in a bleeding, unfair world, things could be/are otherwise.

Fuxia 2 is ecstatic to present the exhibition ELASTICKY, with Jenny Berg, Guido Ignatti, Santino Santillana and Antigoni Tsagkaropoulou. Doing so alongside writer and creative director Melina Ruiz Natali, and with the support and care of Skånes konstförening, fills us with joy.

While ELASTICKY brings together four artists working across different aesthetic traditions and visual languages, their practices share a distinctive collective ethos. The exhibition touches on the relation between restraint and potentiality. It offers glimpses of uncontained longings and fractured belongings, travelling through family albums, natural catastrophes, otherworldly sisterhoods and fictional escape routes.

In preparation for this project, during the many video calls with Melina (who lives in Buenos Aires and has been part of the Fuxia crew since its inception), we found ourselves trying to name that modality of being with that sparks political imagination. The title of the exhibition playfully conveys an ambivalent state of things, where reality seems to be elastic, malleable, capable of taking unpredictable shapes, while also urging us to stick with it, and with each other.*Visual identity: Cristina Daura
Technician: Jesper Veileby*The exhibition is supported by Malmö Stad, Region Skåne and Skånes konstförening.
